Soul Providers is Richmond's premier soul band. If you like to dance to the sounds of gritty 60's soul and hard driving blues...
Soul Providers delivers the goods! Soul Providers has opened for such national acts as Percy Sledge*, Delbert McClinton and the Charlie Daniels Band and has been featured at Richmond's River City Beer Festival, The Big Gig, Friday Cheers, Innsbrook After Hours, and "Art After Hours" at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. * Review of the show:
... Sledge
should not get all of the credit. Most of the night he
was assisted by an audience that at times was louder
than the headliner. Some of
the crowd's unbridled enthusiasm must have been
because of the opening act. Thanks to the Soul
Providers, the evening began just as soulful as it
ended.
The Richmond-based group tore through a
set of soul standards including "Soul Man", "Slip
Away" and Bill Wither's "Ain't No Sunshine."
These guys have it all -
strong vocals, a horn section and dark sunglasses.
